Bed bugs are hitchhikers. Knowing how they arrived is not about blame — it is the only way to stop it happening a second time.
This is the part people are most anxious about, so it is worth saying clearly: bed bugs have nothing to do with how clean a property is. They feed on blood, not on crumbs or dirt, and they turn up in immaculate homes and in expensive hotels.
BPCA lists the routes: they arrive after attaching themselves to luggage, bags, clothes, second-hand furniture — and even laptops.
One reason they persist unnoticed: BPCA notes that bed bugs can survive for months at a time without feeding. So a piece of furniture that has stood unused, or a room shut up for a season, is not necessarily clear.
We establish the extent, and we ask how it is likely to have arrived — not to apportion blame but because it tells us whether anything else needs checking.
Treatment then targets the harbourage in the affected rooms. You will know what we are doing and what it costs before we start.
Our current price is £220 first room, +£80 per additional room. There is no call-out fee, and the figure is confirmed with you before anything is booked — never afterwards.
Our Bed Bug Control cost guide explains what the price covers and what happens on the day, and every price we charge is published on the pest control price list.
The risk with a DIY attempt is not only that it fails. It can move an infestation into rooms that were clear, and it makes the professional treatment that follows harder to place.
